I'm learning to read the Tarot cards--what does it mean when it says, "reversed"?
I read up on how to read the Tarot--it said when the card is "reversed" it means a different thing. When it says "reversed", I'm assuming it means 'upside down'. Now--does this mean upside down to the reader of the cards or the person who is having their fortune told? I am superstitious, but I am definitely not "psychic." Please just answer the question. Thank you!

- It's all BS. Don't even bother pursuing it.
- I've always thought it was reversed when it was upside down to the reader, but it could be the other way too. It might be something that's left up to the individual reader as well. Just read them how you feel most comfortable.
- Upside down to the reader. A reversed card has the same reading as the regular version of the card, just that it should be interpreted in a less potent form. For instance, if the regular reading was "doom and gloom", a reversed reading might be "discomfort or grievance".
- Upside down in relation to the spread being used, regardless of whether that's toward the reader or the sucker...I mean subject.
- It means the card is upside down and generally, the interpretation is reverse from the right sided interpretation. In other words, if a card in the right side mentions love (as in The Lovers), it would mean, the breakup of the relationship if the card is upside down. The cards are always interpreted by the person who is drawing the deck (the person who is shuffling and drawing the cards) - often called, "The Reader."
