Will I go to hell for using tarot cards?
I kinda wanna use them for fun. I believe in God and somewhat Jesus Christ. I can't say I believe -everything- the bible tells me for I am a realist. But you know the game Persona 4? Igor uses tarot cards right? Anyway that was just an example. I want to use it in a way to see what others are thinking or how I am or whatever. Whatever the cards say about future I am somewhat curious but by no means I think it will decide my future for me for if I do I believe it's all in a state of mind. I just wanna use them for fun and believe in God. But I don't want to go to hell or anything. What do you think? Opinions? Facts? What I meant by "somewhat Jesus Christ" is that in the past we didn't always have to accept him as our savior and we would be fine as long as we would repent. That's like saying all Jew's are going to hell when they are strongly connected to Christianity itself. I think as long as we repent and believe in God we would be fine. Just tell me "how big of a sin are tarrot cards if I don't believe in them but just using them for the heck of it." I haven't used them yet and haven't studied astrology. They just look fun is all. I am only human and I don't belive the devil is "inviting me". I don't feel like I "must" or have a "strong urge" to do it. They just look fun/interesting. But as I said before there is no way I think they will decide my or anyone else's future.

- Yes! They are totally evil!
- You are doomed! Whooarrrahhgh! Doomed I say!
- you can still sin and go to heaven. THE ONLY THING THAT DETERMINES WHETHER YOU WILL GO TO HELL OR NOT IS WHETHER YOU HAVE FAITH IN CHRIST.
- Tarot cards don't work by summoning spirits to communicate with the work by vague images used to tell a story, most of the time as an answer to a question typically about the future, its called cold reading, in which the story is so vague that it can apply to anyone but specific enough to sound like your getting the information from the cards you've drawn. assuming for the sake of argument that consorting with spirits/deamons is a punishible sin and assuming for the sake of argument that heaven and hell exist... using Tarot cards would only be sinful of either god considers it a form of baring false witness, or if even the mythology of what tarot cards are would make them a punishable activate to partake in.
- Rebellion is as witch craft, tarot cards are witchcraft.
- Jesus says he is the only way to heaven. "somewhat Jesus Christ" isn't going to get you to heaven.
- Someone once told me that I was evil for using tarot. I've always been advanced spiritually and I've known there is more than one way to receive messages from God. Tarot is one of them. Listen to your own guidance and intuition and don't worry about what anyone else says about it. Part of growth is sometimes going against the grain. If you use them and get to a point where you don't want to anymore or feel like it's wrong, stop. It's as easy as that.
- A realist who dabbles with tarot cards for fun......uh okay. Tarot is similar to fortune telling and scripture advises you to not partake in it. So, its either/or.
- No, you will only go to hell by rejecting God's Savior, Jesus Christ. Spiritual confusion comes to believers who do not mature, that is true. There are false, evil, and deceptive spirits out there, BTW.
- People will end up in hell for not following Jesus. We are ALL sinners. Tarot is devilishly inspired and will damage you spiritually, and will make your following more difficult. It is highly recommended that you avoid all occult practices.
- Well, many on here will tell you that you will burn in the fires of hell for all eternity REPENT!!!! But just ignore them for they are mad.......
- many Christians before they were Christians used tarot cards. that stuff alllows demons in ur life. those demons will scrw ur life up. the Christians who use that stuff all say the same tihng. the demons are gonna come after you and they will lie to you. like demons actually talking to you!
- Hell, at least in the way you mean it, does not exist. Genesis 3:19--In the sweat of your face you will eat bread until you return to the ground, for out of it you were taken. For dust you are and to dust you will return.” (God was talking to Adam after Adam had eaten the forbidden fruit, and made no mention of eternal burning. Instead God, the one who would know what happens after death, told Adam he would be dust). Psalms 146:3, 4--Do not put YOUR trust in nobles, nor in the son of earthling man, to whom no salvation belongs. 4) His spirit goes out, he goes back to his ground; in that day his thoughts do perish. (The Bible notes that the thoughts of the dead do perish, so why eternally burn that which cannot care about it?) Ecclesiasters 9:5--For the living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all... (Again, why burn that which would not be conscious of it?) The eternal burning torment of Hell does not exist. This is not to say that one cannot be punished, it is simply that one is left in death (non-existence, similar to the state you were in before you were born or even conceived) rather than being brought back to the everlasting life promised by Jesus. John 17:3--This means everlasting life, their taking in knowledge of you, the only true God, and of the one whom you sent forth, Jesus Christ. ________________________ But the question that you bring up is, "will you be punished by being left in death for using tarot cards?" I will let the inspired Word of God answer that one as well. Deuteronomy 18:9-13--“When you are entered into the land that Jehovah your God is giving you, you must not learn to do according to the detestable things of those nations. 10) There should not be found in you anyone who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire, anyone who employs divination, a practicer of magic or anyone who looks for omens or a sorcerer, 11) or one who binds others with a spell or anyone who consults a spirit medium or a professional foreteller of events or anyone who inquires of the dead. 12) For everybody doing these things is something detestable to Jehovah, and on account of these detestable things Jehovah your God is driving them away from before you. 13) You should prove yourself faultless with Jehovah your God. (Jehovah is God's name according to Psalms 83:18 of the Old King James Version of the Bible). Tarot cards would fit under one who employs divination (attempting to use supernatural means to find information of the present or future), practicer of magic, and one who looks for an omen. These are not just disliked by God, but rather God finds them DETESTABLE! Hated to the max, as it were. 1st Corinthians 10:20-22--No; but I say that the things which the nations sacrifice they sacrifice to demons, and not to God; and I do not want YOU to become sharers with the demons. 21) YOU cannot be drinking the cup of Jehovah and the cup of demons; YOU cannot be partaking of “the table of Jehovah” and the table of demons. 22) Or “are we inciting Jehovah to jealousy”? We are not stronger than he is, are we?
- People use to burn in Hell for eating a liverwurst sandwich on Friday. And then one day the Pope said, "Never mind". And people said, "But people were roasted for centuries". and the Pope said, "Shut up".
- Just so you know, I have not used them, but did find myself curious about the astrology, before I was really growing in my faith as a Christian, I had prayed and asked God for protection from the study of it, and He did provide that protection, but in the process the health of my sister was in bad shape all during the years I was studying that, it was a real sad situation for her, that has never reveresed itself. Though she did become sick before I was involved seriously in the study in the years that I did this it was only a one to book study, and I had involvement with a group that I later learned were charlatans, and have realized that it was not a good thing much later on. I was always attending church in the process of those years, but the struggles came harder when I found myself beginning to promote such, and it was time to stop that involvement with the astrology area. I know that isn't the tarot cards, but I also know that anything related in that area is an abomination to GOD. So I did stop my study there, and He is my Savior, I do not participate in that and am glad to stay away from it. One's faith in Jesus has to be strong, real, and consistent and to warn others to not get involved with such. I would reccomend other areas to consider for help . I.e. read the Bible, in honest repentance of your sin and yes that is a sin to play with such, it's like bait from the evil one, who is toying with your curiosity, and he will draw you away from God in that 'play' that's his intent. So it is much better to read the Bible, and realize that your future can be fully put into HIS hands, i.e. God's Hands, and that He will help you with your future if you will trust that to HIM ! There are ministries out there that can help you too, and authors as well. Tim LaHaye's books on discovering your personality type is much safer and is entertaining as it is educational. Gary Chapman's got books on discovering your 'love language' out there too, so you might want to consider those authors books instead of the card games that can be very dangerous to the soul. I came to Christ in the year 1970, I was involvled almost most of my years in highschool, and jr. high in the astrology areas. So that should hopefully give you an idea that it has been a very long time ago since my involvement with such areas.
- You can use the Tarot and still believe in God and somewhat in Jezus Christ. It is all in a state of mind. Have fun and be suprised! I know I was! Brightest Blessings, Toran
- First off Tarot cards will not send you to hell.Only you can do that 2nd Tarot cards cannot tell you what other people are thinking of you. 3rd tarot cards get your mind to look at your problem or question from a different perspective.
