- Might I suggest staying as far away as possible from anything to do with the occult? Tarot cards (among other demonic things of the like) are from the devil
- Palm reading is easier to fake - might as well go with that
- Perhaps you should be spending more time on home work. You are going to need all the education you can get.
- I suggest you dont mess with that. Unless you want evil spirits around you 24/7
- OMG, if you want to believe in bullsh**, vote.
- Learn how to spell first
- See if there's a Tarot For Dummies. I'm not calling you a dummy or anything. Those books are just really good at explaining things to beginners.
- You don't need a book for this. Just make a long list of interesting phrases such as "Red card and pentacles show strength". Review the phrases often. When you get a paying sucker, throw out several phrases that show what the mark wants to hear. Never be afraid to ask for more money to increase the "spiritual" contact. .
- I know how interesting, and intriguing the occult is but I beg of you ... don't get involved in it. When you do, you open the door to Satan and his demons to control you. At one time I was into just about all of it ... Ouija board, numerology, tarot cards, astrology you name it! What scared the literal hell out of me was when the Ouija board was asked, "Who answers our questions?" It spelled out "Devil." I put it all in the trash and never returned to any of it. Shortly thereafter I turned to Christ and was saved from Satan and his sway on me. I highly recommend you do the same. Has anyone ever taken a Bible and shown you how you can KNOW for sure that you are going to heaven? The Bible contains both BAD NEWS and GOOD NEWS. The bad news is something about US. The good news is something about GOD. Let’s look at the bad news first …. BAD NEWS #1 We are all sinners. Romans 3:23 says, “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” “Sinned” means that we have missed the mark. When we lie, hate, lust, or gossip, we have missed the standard God has set. Supposed you and I were each to throw a rock and try to hit the North Pole. You might throw farther than I, but neither of us would hit it. When the Bible says, “All have sinned and fall short,” it means that we have all come short of God’s standard of perfection. In thoughts, words, and deeds, we have not been perfect. But the bad news gets worse …. BAD NEWS #2 The penalty for sin is death …. Romans 6:23 says, “The wages of sin is death.” Suppose you worked for me and I paid you $50. That $50 would be your wages. That’s what you earned. The Bible says that by sinning we have earned death. That means we deserve to die and be separated from God forever. BUT …. Since there was no way we could come to God, God came to us. GOOD NEWS #1 Christ died for us. Romans 5:8 tells us, “God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Suppose you are in a hospital dying of cancer. I come to your and say, “Let’s take the cancer cells from your body and put them into my body.” If that were possible, •What would happen to me? •What would happen to you? I would die in your place. I would die instead of you. The Bible says Christ took the penalty that we deserved for sin, placed in upon Himself, and died in our place. Three days later Christ came back to life to prove that sin and death had been conquered and that His claims to be God were true. Just as the bad news got worse, the good news gets better! GOOD NEWS #2 You can be saved through faith in Christ. Ephesians 2:8, 9 says, “For by grace [underserved favor] you have been saved [delivered from sin’s penalty] through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.” Faith means trust. Q. What must you trust Christ for? A. You must depend on Him alone to forgive you and to give you eternal life. Just as you trust a chair to hold you through no effort of your own, so you must trust Jesus Christ to get you to heaven through no effort of your own. But you may say, “I’m religious.” “I go to church.” “I don’t steal.” “I’m a good person.” “I help the poor.” These are all good, but good living, going to church, helping the poor or any other good things you might do cannot get you to heaven. You must trust in Jesus Christ alone, and God will give you eternal life as a gift! Does that make sense to you? Is there anything keeping you from trusting Christ right now? Think carefully. There is nothing more important than your need to trust Christ. Would you like to tell God you are trusting Jesus Christ as your Savior? If you would, why not pray right now and tell God you are trusting His Son? REMEMBER! It is not a prayer that saves you. It is trusting Jesus Christ that saves you. Prayer is simply how you tell God what you are doing. “Dear God, I know I’m a sinner. I know my sin deserves to be punished. I believe Christ died for me and rose from the grave. I trust Jesus Christ alone as my Savior. Thank You for the forgiveness and everlasting life I now have. In Jesus’ name, amen.”
- As I always instructed my students: Each card of a proper Tarot deck is a work of art - - - no one other that you yourself can tell you what you 'should' feel when viewing it. To learn the Tarot, first not only do not look up any books, take the little book of meanings that came with the deck and throw it away! Second, learn the pentacle spread (see below), and do one each morning before you go to school or work or whatever, asking "What will happen today?", and record the results and your interpretation in a notebook that you have dedicated to this purpose. At the end of the day, record what actually happened, and correlate what was predicted with what happened. At the end of each week, look over all of the readings and write down your conclusions. Do that again at the end of each month, and by the time 6 months has passed you will have an excellent personal foundation-vocabulary with your deck. If you really need to, this is the time to start looking for books to read about tarot. Start with AE Waite - - - dry as dust but the original. Paul Foster Case, and various books published by Llewellyn should get you started. Pentacle Spread (shuffle 3 times, focused on your question) lay out the cards as follows: . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 2 . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 4 . . . . . . . . . . . . 5 . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 1 . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 6 . . . . . . . . 3 . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ...7 on top of your deck. 1 = the actual answer to your question. 2 - 6 = the way things got to be this way. 2+5 cause 6, 5+3 cause 4, 3+6 cause 2, 6+4 cause 5, 4+2 cause 3; all five together cause 1. 7 = the deck's opinion on how well you interpreted the spread. Notes = if more than 3 (not counting the 7th) are reversed, or if 2 or more of the Major Arcana (when they show up) are reversed- - - there are several layers to the meanings involved, on the surface it is as shown, but at a deeper layer (reverse everything and read it again). If the 7th card is reversed you messed up the meanings completely, reshuffle and reinterpret. About once a month after you have begun this, lay out your Major Arcana as follows: ..............................Fool; Magician, High Priestess, Empress, Emperor, Hierophant, Lovers, Chariot; Strength, Hermit, Wheel of Fortune, Justice, Hanged Man, Death, Temperance; Devil, Tower, Star, Moon, Sun, Judgement, World........ ................(move the Fool here). Pretend that it is a story, a foreign film that you can only get glimpses of. Ignore the titles and tell the story, recording it in your notebook. This story will change as you learn and grow - - - let it. Notice similarities along vertical lines (Magician-Strength-Devil, and Chariot-Temperance-World). If you find it difficult to 'read' a card, imagine that the main figure in the card is you - - - what would you have to be feeling to have that expression on your face or to hold your body that way? What is going on in the card, what actions is the main figure doing or what actions are being done to him/her. Also - - - Cups are always emotions, Swords thoughts or information, Wands Power, and Pentacles resources or money. Major Arcana are subjects much more important than any of these. Good luck!!!
