What is a troll? And I don't mean the mystical creatures from fairy tales...?

I always see people answering questions with "troll", or that person is a "troll", etc, etc. Does it mean fake? Sorry I'm not computer linguistics inclined, lol.

1. It's a person who says something incredibly offensive/stupid just for the sake of making other people angry. They just want to get a rise out of other people because it's funny to them.
2. It means someone who Intentionally starts stuff on the Internet. Starts picking fights, posts provocative offensive messages begging for a response

4. Most people think it's a troll from fairy tales, but the word actually comes from a fishing term. To troll in fishing is to drag a lure across a body of water in the hope of attracting a fish to bite it. Hence its use in chat rooms and message boards, a troll is someone who is deliberately provocative and obnoxious in the hope of getting a bite and dragging someone into an argument. They have no interest in the opinion they profess, they simply want an argument.
5. It is someone that has no life except to find a thread on a forum, or chat-site and who generates their own (often distorted) point of view.
