How do I convince my superstitious parents?

I want to have a puppy, I have been asking for one for long time. I live with my parents in a flat, I'm a chinese and buddhist, so my parents are kinda superstitious. I was close to getting a puppy when my dad went to this fortune teller whom he said that guy is very true, and that guy told him that in my life, I clash with people with the chinese zodiac of dog, and I cant marry someone who the chinese zodiac of dog OR take care of the puppy, or I'll suffer in the future. I'm really upset about this, I've been telling him that a dog cant possibly determined my life, like it so ridiculous? I really need some help. I'm fifteen living in tiny red dot singapore. I'm asking for advices to convince them, so no point telling NOT to get them. And I'm adopting, not buying, the poor soul I wanna adopt is gonna be put to sleep by 14 March. That is why I'm asking for advices! Hello rayven, thats NOT an advice, even if it is, it isnt helping at all. Thanks for answering.

1. You don't. What you do is stick it out until you're an adult living in your own home and THEN you get a dog. Simple as that. Ridiculous? Maybe but at the end of the day your parents have final say. Why have a dog where it is not wanted? And you were given advice. You aren't going to change their minds on this. Doesn't matter if you plan to adopt or buy. They have said no and NO means NO
2. Sounds like you will have to wait til you are an adult and move out. Even if superstition is rediculous, you still must obey your parents. Good luck!
