- I like the Marion Bradley Zimmer "Avalon" series - Mists of Avalon, Ancestors of Avalon, Forest House, Lady of the Lake. But that's probably because I like anything relating to King Arthur myths, goddess worship, and the Holy Grail. You may be interested in Nordic Gods & Hereos by Padraic Colum, Lord of the Rings trilogy, and Tales from Earthsea.
- Well, what books have you read already? The ones that you don't like, I mean....The only one that I can think of right off hand is Ella Enchanted, or the Narnia Chronicles (but I don't really like that one)....Ummm, OH! Lord of the Rings is another good one! (I do like those, but with the Elf language and such, it might be hard to understand and follow.) But I hope I helped!
- Peirs Anthony: Landover series, Xanth series either or both. The guy has a wicked sense of puns and humor. Terry Brooks: Shannara trilogy
- Check out Terry Goodkind - http://books.google.com/books?as_auth=Terry+Goodkind&sa=X&oi=print&ct=title&cad=author-navigational&hl=en
- And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie Its not a mythical book but its a good murder mystery
