If spiritual healing works, then why do we need modern medicine?
Supposedly, it is common for people to be healed through hands on healing, through faith, through the power of Jesus, or whatever. Spiritual healing can supposedly heal much better than any form of medicine; it can cure incurable diseases and conditions! But if this is the case, why do we need modern medicine at all? Why bother going to doctors or taking drugs or vitamins? Were all the studies that support spiritual healing just coincidences and frauds?

- because medicine IS an answered prayer.
- No such thing as spiritual healing, Modern medicine is so we don't die.
- Well doctors still need jobs, right?
- It doesn't work. Did you hear about all those parents who relied on faith to heal their kids? The kids died, and the parents went to jail for neglect.
- That is the problem... IT DOES NOT WORK!!!!
- Because it doesn't work.
- Because not all people believe in Jesus or spiritual healing.
- imma say spiritual healing doesnt work
- As a proud Christian, I would blame these matters on the GFC.
- watch our america with lisa ling, there's an episode about spiritually healing (i'm getting deja vu for talking about this again, but anyway...) this man was in a wheelchair and went to this spiritual healing convention and he was "told by god" that he would walk the last 10 minutes of the last day of the convention. to this day, he's still paralyzed. also, a woman with cancer is getting sicker and sicker, even after going through spiritual healing. (d-did i get a thumbs down? WHAT FOR? i'm not even saying my opinion, mang!)
- Because it's called "Faith- healing".. a lot of people don't have enough FAITH to be healed by it.
- Because we don't believe in Spiritual healing, but we DO believe in doctors and and drugs.
- God has gifted all sorts of people with various kinds of healing. Some are doctors, some are pharmacists, and some to laying on of hands. Some do all of the above. I have done "spiritual" healing, and, yes, it can work very well. But, sometimes it doesn't. And, when I get a headache, I pop an aspirin, which contains acetecylic acid, found in the bark of willow trees. Sometimes I will make a tea using white willow bark (although I am out of that now). Sometimes modern medicine works best. Sometimes healing does. It can also be both.
