why do people believe in tarot cards and all that other occult nonsense?

I was in my local bookstore at the Mind/Body/Spirit section and there just seems to be book after book of delusional titles such as "Healing Angels" and "Love Spell" books, are there really people who buy into this stuff?

6. Ya, for some reason people seem to be drawn to religion and other magic. I guess they feel helpless and are looking for power.

8. The same reason people believe in immaculate conception, heaven, hell, god, jesus, satan, resurrection, scientology, etc...The funny part is that Religions like christianity come from the pagan religions your speaking about.

13. Hmn.. well.. there are some of those things that really are true.. I know it sounds silly.. but I learned to read the tarot cards and once in a while I ask it stuff.. and it answers.. usually 97% correct. It also helps when going through bad times and such.. it could just be me though. About the Healing Angels and Love spells.. lolol.. never really checked them out but they sound like they could be interesting to read.. Maybe try and see.. remember.. open mind.

15. A lot of stuff out there is total bull. But some of it is not - and tarot cards in talented hands can be extremely informative. Of course, you probably don't want to hear that - you're probably just looking for someone here to help you make fun of it.
16. Yes. As a Christian, I see everything laid before my eyes in its entirety. The devil is among us. Peter desrcibed him thus: " Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. (1 Peter 1:8)" Paul warned us furthermore that we should be wary of what we see and hear. "See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the elemental spiritual forces[a] of this world rather than on Christ. (Colossians 2:8)" The devil is very active in trying to steal the hearts and minds of man. Remember, God let Satan roam the earth. Look back at Job, or even at the temptation of Jesus in the desert. Satan can, and will, attack anyone and everyone. Some will fall, such as those who believe in Tarot and Fortune-Telling. Paul gave us his warning so that we may be prepared if we were to be attacked. He warned us so that we would not be among those who fell to Satan's deception. Let us continue to pray for those who do not believe or have been taken captive. STAY FAITHFUL! <3
17. Because they're superstitious. It gives them a feeling of control over their lives.
18. because they need guidance, hopes, supports to satisfy and secure themselves. they rather find help from Man rather than God.
19. I guess some people need an escape from this world of piss. I'd like to have a deck of tarot PLAYING cards. It was a card game before people began to use them for pointless purposes.

21. Just like someone said earlier. Before these so called Christians want to "save" the weirdos or idiots of the world. They need to look in the mirror at there own "pagan" religion and ask they're sun god Jesus why early christianity was filled with pagan rituals and beliefs. Go look at Easter. Take a closer look at Christimas. But I'm sure the devil is making me type these misguided words. Please. Both the "Christian" god and the "Christian" devil can go to straight to hell. Not saying all so called "occult" religions or practices are better. I just dont like how people are quick to condem or judge people because of there different beliefs.
