Asked pahrmacist bout Tramadol that I was given for TMJD & she started talking bout karma, angelic healing etc!?
No offence but wtf? Went in to explain I'd been prescribed Ixprim, a type of Tramadol for pain related to TMJD/possible osteoarthritis of the tm joint and lo and behold she starts on about spiritual healing power and angels and ones past and the retention of negative energy and karma and all this.........Eh...I just wanted to know if it would be normal to prescribe them for TMJD pain or possible osteoarthritis or was there anything better on the market. Have you ever heard of angelic healing? (I'm agnostic atheist btw) She was calling it IET or something? Integrated Energy Therapy. And something called the Bowen Technique http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bowen_technique I alreadybhad the prescription filled in a different pharmacy but this one is on my way home so just called in to ask about what it was I'd been given, Tramadol. Tramadol sucks btw unless you like turning white, puking, sweating, gettting dizzy and nearly collapsing.

- There is a name for complimentary and alternative medicine techniques which actually work. It's called "medicine". That snake oil seller should be sacked immediately.
- laugh in and around her face
- She probably on break and didn't feel like filling your rx.
- I'd report her to the NHS PCT for a probable conflict of interest. ...
- At first sight I thought this was like one of those cases you hear about, where a doctor invites you to pray with them etc - completely out of order. But your additional details make the story clearer. The pharmacist obviously felt at liberty to say what they did because you were just asking for advice. Still pretty weird and uncalled-for though. The Bowen Technique is worth investigating - a friend practised that and helped me with an excruciatingly painful and disabling trapped nerve. But it was a straightforward NHS physiotherapist at my local hospital who really sorted me out. Get your doctor to arrange an appointment.
