- You can speak the truth that it's just childish nonsense which doesn't work, but I'm betting you won't.
- Belief in Jesus Christ and accept Him as your personal savior is your spiritual feeling and healing. Jesus heals.
- we are all born ito this world dead in our sins (dead spiritualy) but when we come to God through faith in Jesus we are made alive together with Christ alive spiritualy, this is what salvation is all about being made alive spiritualy. receiving the offer of life (1 john 5:11,13) read it
- I don't know what spiritual perspective you are coming to this from, so I can only answer from my own and hope some of it at least makes sense to you. For me there is a definite difference between 'healing' and 'curing'. 'Curing' to me implies a return to a mythical previous disease-free state, whereas 'healing' for me is about growth and moving on. It is about the balances in the human system. I am a practitioner of Reiki, which in my view is pretty much the same thing as Spiritual healing. I have worked as a regular volunteer therapist at my local hospice with both Day Unit patients (undergoing treatment, but at home) and those on the ward, who were terminally ill. I have also done regular work with a Parkinsons Disease patients group, as well as many individual clients with a variety of issues. The basic premise of both Reiki and Spiritual Healing is that a form of energy can be transferred from the hands of the practitioner to the body of the patient, which then affects the system of the patient in such a way as to promote remission of disease, growth of healthy tissue, knitting of fractured bones or ther positive results. Hands-on healing is a feature of many cultures across the world and across history. Where they differ is in their interpretation of the source of this energy - 'The Universe', 'God' or what have you. A Christian could consider it a wonderful gift from a loving God. I have had many, many patients comment on how much warmth they can feel from my hands, though I usually hold them at a distance of 5 cms from their body. In fact, they are often astounded on opening their eyes to see that I am not touching them. This is what Hippocrates, the creator of the modern doctor's Hippcratic Oath and known as the father of modern Western medicine, said in the 5th century BC: "It is believed by experienced doctors that the heat which oozes out of the hand, on being applied to the sick, is highly salutary. It has often appeared, while I have been soothing my patients, as if there was a singular property in my hands to pull and draw away from the affected parts aches and diverse impurities, by laying my hand upon the place, and extending my fingers toward it. Thus it is known to some of the learned that health may be implanted in the sick by certain gestures, and by contact, as some diseases may be communicated from one to another." Spiritual Healing does not have to be opposed to conventional medicine. Indeed, I have often given treatments to cancer patients on chemotherapy drips or after radiotherapy. I believe it works on many levels, including that of destressing, stimulating relaxation and helping develop a positive attitude which helps conventional therapies work more effectively. But beyond the emotional and psychological, I have had patients come back to me and ask for further treatment on arthritic joints as there was a considerable diminution of pain and increased freedom of movement. I have even had a patient with late-onset Parkinsons and simultaneous neck and back pain tell me that he had been very concerned that he would lose his driving licence, as though his Parkinsons was under control with drugs, he could not turn his head sufficiently to feel save while driving; after Reiki treatments he had much greater freedom of movement in his neck and head and could safely keep driving.
