What is the difference between ascendant and moon in horoscopes?

What is the difference between ascendant and moon in horoscopes? What does the moon affect? How can you accurately find your ascendant? How much influence does the moon have in the sun sign? I got curious because Every site i visit to find my ascendant says something different

3. the moon is your inner emotional nature. the ascendant is your outward personality. the mask you wear most of the time. it's the placement through which your whole chart is filtered. a person with virgo rising will scarcely have anything in common with an aries rising, even if all their other planets were the same. the moon does not influence the sun sign. unless they are in aspect. the sun sign is not "you". your whole chart is you. the sun, moon, rising sign, etc all have their purpose and influence you to some extent in their own way. the problem with finding your ascendant is that some of the websites do not correct for daylight savings time or lackthereof. that's probalby why you're getting a different reading on different sites. you might be just on the end or beginning of a rising sign. which could complicate matters. astro.com and alabe.com are the most preferred sites.

The Sun is your Ego, it's who you are as an individual and your willpower. The Moon influences the Sun Sign by whatever signs these two are in or if they aspect each other. In general, the Sun and it's placement(s) and aspect(s) have the most influence over you, then the Moon comes next. The Moon can have more influence if it has more aspects and is in a better placement than the Sun. For example: A Sun in Leo, which is the best placement for the Sun as it produces a very confident and ambitious person, can be modified by a Moon In Capricorn, which is a quiet emotional person yet ambitious. Basically, the person would be a confident yet quiet and ambitious person. I don't know how else to answer this question besides the way I did. I'm not an Astrologer, I just know a few things.
5. from the top of my head, the moon is the inner self. the moon sign is very important it comes second to the sun. The moon represents emotions, motherhood and your mother, fertility and a lot more. The moon also plays a role in your appearance. look at what house your moon is in and aspects to it the ascendant is the mask you put on to the world..your ascendant is how people see you when they first meet you. the ascendant is the personality people recognize who dont know you well. if its the same ascendant your reading about, the context will be different from site to site. thats because astrology is so big a subject, no one site can say everything about it The Acsednent typically dominates the appearance of a person. Its can also highlight the weak areas of the body and potential health problems. (so can the sun and mars)
