Mystical Angels

Lucifer, Angels, Devils, Satan, Fairies, Witches, Behemoth, Cherubim ?

Lucifer is the same dude as Satan (the devil) right? God got pi$$ed off at him and kicked him and his faction out of Heaven. Lucifer was an Angel so are Angels the same as Devils or did god wave his magic wand and morph him into a devil...Horns etc? Jews Christians and Muslims all have angels ( magical humanoids with wings). They seem very similar to fairies so am I right in presuming Angels are fairies with religion ? What are angels made of? How do they reproduce? Do they have DNA. Witches are also mentioned in the Bible, so do Christians & Jews believe in witches and witchcraft? There seems to be a lot of magical mystical beasts. Jonah got swallowed by a Fish but not digested, must be a magic fish. There is also something called a behemoth that sounds like Godzilla. St George killed a dragon. So are the faithful flock supposed to believe in all these magical beasts and beings? many of you take the bible literally. & what is a cherubim? Please advise and comment - it confuses me.

  1. good question, i would have to do much research on this one...
  2. Angels were created by god. They don't reproduce with eachother. They are merely creations. Cherubim is a classification of angel. If I recall correctly, the angel heirachy goes like this: Highest: Seraphim Cherbuim Ophanim Dominions Virtues Powers Principals Arcangels Angels Lowest
  3. The Bible is the word and the life. If you would ever read it you would understand.
  4. You have confused us all.
  5. wow. im atheist.. but.. i think angels dont have DNA, didnt god just *poof* humans? and humans turn into angels when they do good, but die? the fish must be a whale..? behemoth = giant monster
  6. confused or you need to get your facts straight
  7. and since BUG avoided the question....he hasn't read it either...not that it would help...the bible is just a collection of stories that aren't exactly true...
  8. angels are out there to help God doing his job better, so are the devils, trying to destroy it....we can choose on which side we want to be...in the eternal fight between good and evil,,
  9. Boy that's a lot for just two points.
  10. They similarites exsist because they all have a common source. There are many, that jews, xtians, and muslims believe in. All three are based on myths that predate them. Holy scripture is not true, its parable to teach us life lessons.
  11. Yes, Saten used to be called Lucifer. This name was taken from him at his disobedience and removal from Heaven. Saten , however, looks the same as he did when he enjoyed Heaven as his home. He does not have horns and red skin. That is an artist rendition, not a biblical one. The bible states that he is actually the most beautiful of all the angels. Angels are always referred to in the bible with masculine names when they are named at all. What theya are made of is not written down for us to know. They do no reproduce according to the bible. For when we get to heaven, we will be as the angels, neither married, nor given in marriage. Witches and magic and spells are all mentioned in the bible. We are told point blank to stay away from that stuff. So, do I believe in it? Yes. Will I stay away from it? Very much YES. behemouths are simply large reptiles. Modern day names for them would be dinosaurs, dragons (fire breathing). Cherubim seem to guard valuable things in the bible. They are described in Eziekiel and it is written that they were protecting or guarding certain things. There is not a whole lot written about them other than that.
  12. I just know about Angels...they are celestial beings... dont reproduce... and they arent like fairies... is just a human perception....the look how is convenient when they want to let saw.... and they dont have wings.. is just cause hey are so bright that looks like.... well some about i've studied And that question... buy a book a religion one or mysticism.. or check in the web
  13. No one ever follows faith 100% because all religeous books contradict themselves. However religion is designed to make poeple better so believe in a religion that suits you (if any) and take from that religion parts that help to make you a better person. e.g the 10 commandments
  14. YOUVE GOT YOUR DATES ALL TANGLED UP AND FACTS MIXED WITH FICTIONAL BEINGS. as an example Baphomet was invented if you will by a english gent by the name of Levi in the 1800's,a cherub is a lil' fat winged supposedly angel invented by artists about 750 years ago,and all religions began in an occult way jewish was quabala not sure on that spelling,if you want to study religion decide which one and begin in the quabalah, torah, bible, koran as an example of jewish/christian/islam
  15. Well, I'm pretty sure you're not serious, and I'm probably wasting my time, but here goes.... Yeah, Satan, Lucifer is the devil. Yeah, he used to be an angel, he was in charge of Worship. Got the big head, wanted to be bigger than God. Was thrown out. Next part...Satan can appear as he wants...the horns, tail, etc, are not how he looks, tho he probably could appear that way if he wanted. Angels, hmmm, don't think they reproduce....if God wants more, he makes them. No, they are not fairies. They are not human, so who knows about the DNA thing, but I kinda doubt it. Yes, I believe in witchcraft. I believe all of the creatures in the Bible are real...did you ever consider that the behemoth might have been a tyrannosaurus rex? A cherubim is an angel. Imagine how silly everyone would have thought back in the 1500's, if the Bible had said that we could take a tiny part of an animal, and make a whole new animal out of it by a process called "cloning"....Absurd, right? Just because we do not understand it all now, doesn't mean it's not true.
  16. You shouldn't take the bible literally. None of these are actually true, they are only meant to teach lessons. They are metaphors and parables.
  17. Well in Isieah he it talk about as a cherub, the a serpent, dragon, beast, and yes was a angel
  18. it confuses me too :-s
  19. Good day to all of you worshipers out there, regardless of your religion. The Bible was written specifically to confuse people. Because confused people need guidence, and thats were religions come in and point you onto the right path (because it suits there purpose, not because thats were you should be heading). Therefore do not pay any attention to the Bible or any other religious babbling of any kind. May you now forever be at peace, safe in the knowledge that there are no Angels, No God watching our every move, and No Satan waiting to stick red hot pokers up our bums for the rest of eternity. However there may have been witches in the past, in the same way we have Magicians. The difference being we all understand it's only an illusion. When in the past, pulling a frog out a big pointy hat (Rabits were scarce back then) was the act of the devil, who doesn't exist!! Behemoth could be used to describe a Lion or a Bear, as back when the Bible was written the avg Height of the population was a lot shorter than it is now, so these creatures would have seemed a lot bigger - Or a kiddie ran from the local forest screaming they had just been attacked by a massive beastly Behemoth, and all the Adults beleived them. When in fact it was a Goat? As for the faithful flock! they believe what ever they are told by their religious leaders, because that way they don't have to think for themselves (I must point out not all beleivers chose not to think for themselves, thay are merely incable) so yes they would beleive in all that mumbo jumbo magical stuff. I hope you find my answer enlightening!!
  20. I don't even think any of these are true.
  21. Hope I am not talking to 'the' Jesus Christ but to a sincere seeker of religious realities. In Islamic texts, Lucifer(Satan) was in the company of Angels, but, by creation, was a Jinn not an Angel. Satan has his progeny(hosts) in quite a large number, to this day. They are the 'only' creation like humans who have a 'will' to do or not to do an act. The animals, the angels have only to submit to the Will of God. Among the Jinns, there are all the contemporary religions as in humans. They procreate, eat, teach and have a much longer life span than humans. They are not superior to humans except that some of them can overwhelm the thought-process of some humans and make the 'possesed' act against the fellow humans. There are definite rituals and exercises to exorcise. Self- exorcism is quite common among Muslims. Occasionally, a help may be sought from the more knowledgeable. A contact with them is not encouraged. The Jinn can be a friend or a foe. But the Muslims believe in the reality of this creation. Surprisingly to me, in a personal experience, that the ritual of exorcism is quite similar to that in Christians. So an American Priest was observed in seeking help from his Muslimfriend in exorcising a female American( a college teacher) and it was done successfully...
  22. All mentioned belong to the dreaming side of our personality. We cannot control them but we can participate in their lives, because they represent energy plot of the World as well as our inner World. It is an effect of our emotional intelligence which is in search for beauty. It does not operate with words but with symbols. Every stage of the human development has it's symbols like every human has his/her own symbols.
  23. I just study all this and it has its own place as we do. Bohemoth is a hippo. Satan is a resister of God and truth John 8:44; Angels do not die Luke 20:34-36; Michael is strong Jude 9; Dan.10:13,21; Dan.12:1-13; Rev.12:6-12,14,17; 1Thes.4:15-17; John 17:3,5,24; Jesus was with God before the world was. Job. 38:4-7; The angels shouted with joy to see earth become the focus for habitation, Matt.26:53; Jesus could have had twelve legions [ 72,000 ], of angels if he had wanted them.Rev.5:11; Says ten thousands times ten thousands and thousands and thousands of thousands. Enoch at Jude 14; the 7th from Adam says ten thousand. Also Job 2:1,2; Satan was among the sons of God. Eze. 28:13-15; The cherub anointed over Eden became Satan. Isa.14:1212-14; All angels are called stars, Lucifer means day star. Rev.22:16; Jesus is the bright and morning star. Job,38:4-7; They are all called stars.
  24. No. Lucifer was not the same as Satan. At least not originally. The confusion came from a mis-translation. The name Lucifer appears only once in the King James version of the Bible and it was a reference to a Babylonian king, not an angel. The word Lucifer came from the Latin "Lux Fere" or "Light Bringer" which was one of the titles used for this particular king. Somehow, years later, someone decided it was a fallen angel a.k.a. Satan. Not true. I have heard it put forth that Lucifer was a minor pre-Christian Roman deity, but I've never seen anything to confirm this. As to the rest of your question, I have no idea except that cherubim is one of the "classifications" of angels.
  25. In ancient Jewish tradition Satan is simply an angel doing the work that God assigned to Satan to do. The word Satan means challenger. With the idea of Satan challenging us, or tempting if you will. This description sees Satan as the angel who is the embodiment of man's challenges. This idea of Satan works closely with God as an integral part of God plan for us. His job is to make choosing good over evil enough of a challenge so that it becomes clear to us that there can be only one meaningful or logical choice. Contrast this to Christianity, which sees Satan as God's opponent. In Jewish thought, the idea that there exists anything capable of setting itself up as God's opponent would be considered polytheistic or setting up the devil to be an equally powerful polarity to god or a demigod. Oddly, proof for The Christian satan/devil mythology is supposedly found in the ancient Jewish texts that were borrowed to create the bible. One can’t help but wonder how Christians came up with such a fantastically different interpretation of Gods assistant Satan in their theology. Other hints about Satan’s role in human relations can be seen if you look at the name Lucifer. It meaning in the original tongue translates as Light bearer or light bringer. Essentially the bringer of enlightenment. The temptations of the Satan idea bring all of us eventually into Gods light. Hardly the Evil entity of Christian mythology. Love and blessings don
  26. lucifer is not a word meantioned in the bible. it was a name made for satan before he sinned. all the angels were created by Jehovah God. a powerful angel desired the worship of adam and eve and came to earth and persuaded them to sin. he was later called satan. any angels who followed his way of life became known as demons. desciptions of angels can be found in the bible, saying they have mighty wings and are powerful. no description is made of demons. witches are mentioned but spiritism, demon worship and anything to do with the occult or idolatry is described as something detestable to Jehovah, as it is a tool used by satan and his demons to trap potential worshippers of Jehovah. there is no mention of angels reproducing, but all were created by Jehovah. the fish that swallowed jonah is believed to be a sperm whale or whale shark, as they have suitably large mouths but only eat plancton and wouldn't have swallowed him. the behemoth is assumed to be the hippopotomus, and laviathon is the crocodile. the story of st george and the dragon is a catholic teaching, in fact saints are not mentioned in the bible at all. there are several wild beasts mentioned in daniel and revalation which represent governments which share characteristics with the beasts discribing them. the cherubim (cherubs), are a class of angel. there are four classes of angel, the archangel (only one, who is jesus in his heavenly form, also called michael), seraphs, cherubs, and the four gaurdians who stand by Jehovahs throne. so yes, true christians should believe in these creatures.
  27. Actually, Lucifer is the Roman name for Eosphorus, the Dawn Star, which appears as herald to the Dawn (Eos). The star was later discovered to be the same heavenly body as the planet Venus. He is NOT Satan, nor is or was He an Angel. He has nothing to do with those silly stories. Interestingly, however, his mother Eos (or Aurora if you're Roman) is a radient being with powerful wings, perfect in form and glowing with light. Strange.
